Charlie's Wayside Write-up

Here is what the good folks at Wayside have written about Charlie from the notes I gave them.

"Like the cartoon character, Charlie Brown, I am a bit insecure but I am getting more comfortable with life. My name just so happens to be Charlie too! Some things scare me like loud sounds or if you get overly upset with me. I respond best to calm, relaxed corrections and get a little nervous if you come by me when I am eating. I am not aggressive or anything just still a little a little fearful.

I love to go to the Bark Park and play with both small and big dogs as long as they are not too bossy and try to pick on me. I am a pretty submissive type dog and if this happens I will just get bored and lose interest in playing. The snow, I Love!! Rolling in it, rooting through it, eating it and especially having snowball fights with my FM. I am starting to like car rides because we always go someplace fun like the pet store or the bark park. It still scares me a little when the window rolls down but I am learning that, that too, is a good thing. With time and experience I bet I will be a confident dog. Not overly full of myself, although I love to look at myself in the mirror and think "Hey I am a really good looking guy!!"

My ideal family would have time for me and possibly a fenced yard to play in. I have a lot of energy and love to run and have space for myself. Other dogs would be fun but I would hope they would not pick on me too much, so please have our staff let us meet first. I want a home w/someone who is somewhat active and with a calm playful spirit. Although, no young children would be best, the more people in the family, the better!
I am house trained now (in only a week) thanks to the patience of my FM. I have learned to wait until My FM goes through a door before I do. My FM says I am a bit stubborn but very smart when it comes to learning tricks. I just need a family with more time for me. I am crate trained but would rather be out playing with my family. My favorite toy is a KONG filled with Peanut butter and I like chew toys and jerky treats. I love ice cubes!!! If I am left too long I can be a bit destructive with my other toys, but "Hey I am still a puppy with lots of energy!"
So if you are a family or individual with a calm loving spirit, with the time and patience to help me build my confidence and shine, please come meet me soon!!" For absence makes the heart grow fonder but it sure makes the rest of you lonely. I have hope I will find you soon!

Love, Charlie"
